Ok ladies!  Please email me at couponfanatics@yahoo.com and claim your $25 Mesa Mall gift card!  Thank you for being so loyal!

For the LOVE of Coupons…

When I started “couponing” a year ago, I never imagined that my desire to save $100 a month would land me where I am today.  I am addicted to a bargain, obsessed with a great deal, determined to help others, and by golly… I am a COUPON FANATIC!!!  These things will NEVER change!

I consider “couponing” like owning a dishwasher (I know its odd… but stick with me here!).  Washing dishes is a must, but a CHORE at the same time!  I hate washing dishes just like I HATE grocery shopping.  Don’t get me wrong, when the dishes are clean and the cupboards are full, I feel like SUPER MOM!!!  BUT… once you own a dishwasher, it is IMPOSSIBLE to go back to handwashing every single fork, glass, bowl, etc.  This is how I feel about couponing.  No matter what, I have to grocery shop.  But… once you shop with coupons, it is IMPOSSIBLE to go back to your old ways!

Once I caught on to this “game” of couponing, I felt an overwhelming desire to spread my knowledge to Egypt and back.  I couldn’t believe that anyone could shop without my the little pieces of paper that saved me a FORTUNE!!!  I began telling friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, and then anyone who would listen!  This moved to classes, group shopping trips, and www.thecouponfanatics.com.  I love the circle of people that I have had the priveledge to share my hobby with and it delights me when I hear how I have “changed” lives.

Though I will continue to coupon, score FANATIC finds, and share my “hobby” with anyone who will listen, I have realized that as I struggle to keep you up to date with the millions of deals out there, there are so many others who can do just the same!  Though this blog was a little short lived, the reason for it will never go away.  We did it “For the LOVE of Coupons!!!!”

We hope that you will understand that somewhere between full time jobs, 5 kids in various schools, sports and activities, church, family, friends, and everything else in between, we had to let something go.  Therefore… we are closing this blog.  The pull that we feel is tremendous, but ultimately we know that as we feel more overwhelmed, this blog will become less reliable to you.

All that being said, below you will find the outstanding blogs that we rely on for top notch deals, reliable sources, and FANATIC finds!!!  Please visit them often!

Also… we want to be a continual resource to you!  We will still have our email address and will look forward to hearing from you!  We are also still available to teach classes, etc. as the needs arise.

Coupon Changes in the Air!!!

WOW!!!  I have been having a hard time keeping up with the recent changes out there with stores and their coupon policies.  I have been waiting to post anything until I was able to verify them myself and am finding what everyone says… is TRUE!!!

ALBERTSONS and DO NOT DOUBLE Coupons:

I have had so many people ask me what it means when an Internet Printable coupon says DO NOT DOUBLE across the top.  Essentially what that means is that the manufacturer will NOT reimburse the store for the “doubling”.  If the coupon is for .50 off Nature Valley Granola Bars and the store doubles it to $1.00, the manufacturer will only send them .50.  It is up to each store whether or not they will double the DO NOT DOUBLE coupons.  I have never had a problem with this… UNTIL yesterday!!!  Of course it was the store that I had trouble with last time (Albs) and I should have learned my lesson by now, but I was SO excited to snag some of the freebies!  Anyways… when I handed the cashier my stack of coupons, she separated them into two piles: internet printables, and other coupons.  The “other” coupons she scanned and they automatically doubled.  The internet printable ones she hand entered and told me that they were not allowed to double any DO NOT DOUBLE coupons.  Needless to say, I did not save anywhere near the amount I should have and was frustrated all together!  We are so fortunate here in Grand Junction that our City Market and Safeway always double.  I have yet to run into this problem there and hope that it does not come up.  Be sure to keep an eye out for this situation and try and structure your coupons so that they will benefit you in the long run.

SAFEWAY

I have seen a lot of hype today in regards to changes that Safeway is making to their coupon policy.  I have NOT been able to verify any of this information and have yet to see an update policy, BUT I do think that we need to be prepared for the changes.  Thanks KCL for the heads up… here are the highlights:

  • Safeway will no longer allow you to stack an eCoupon with a manufacturer coupon!!! (UGH!!!  This one hit me HARD!!)
  • There is a new eCoupon Program that Safeway has made available that is supposed to have some wonderful deals.  (I have yet to sign up for this and am curious to hear if you have.)
  • Safeway will accept manufacturer coupons with another store’s logo on it.  It sounds like this is the same “teaser” that they gave up a few months ago that essentially allowed us to use ANY CATS (including RRs from Walgreens) at their store.  (I am a little skeptical if this is for real or not)

KCL has a great write up on this!  Visit their page for greater details!

Quaker Deal + More at Albertsons!!!

I just HAD to take advantage of Albertsons Quaker Deal that they have running through tomorrow.  I was able to score everything on the table for $20.00.  Not too bad for some great stockup items!  Have you grabbed your Albertsons Ad and stocked up on some of these Fanatic Finds???

A Little Behind…

So… I must apologize that this week’s Weekly Fanatic Grocery Finds never made their appearance.  We have definitely felt the struggle between work, school, last week of baseball, first week of cheerleading, birthdays, etc…  Here is what I managed to find worthwhile at the grocery stores this week!

City Market was my store of choice!  Have you taken advantage of their “Buy 10, Save $5” deals yet?  I found some FANATIC buys!

I purchased a total of 30 items that were a part of the PROMO and had $15.00 come off my total at the end.  The above picture totaled around $32.00 and included a few items from Walgreens as well.

These were some items included in the PROMO:

Cream Cheese – FREE
Kraft Sliced Cheese – $1.49
Oscar Meyer Lunch Meat – $1.99
Capri Suns – $1.49
Fuze Drinks – .29
Hot Pockets – .99
Wonka Halloween Candy – $1.49
Nabisco Snak Paks Cookies – FREE
“Coke” Brand 2-Liters – .79
Juicy Juice – $1.49
Ritz Crackers – $1.49
Quaker Quakes Snacks – .49

I plan on swinging by Albertsons tomorrow to take advantage of their current Quaker PROMO.  I am not exactly sure how the scenarios will play out, so I will post a picture and tell you how I did.  This way you can take advantage of it as well!
